Ludlow Castle

Let's be honest castles are great to look at but can be boring however Ludlow is so impressive you've got to go. For 9quid it's pretty good. Lots of steps to climb. Fantastic views. And steeped in amazing history.

Visited on a perfectly sunny day which meant we could have great views from all the various vantage points from within the castle. As it was described as a ruin wasn't expecting much but it was a real highlight. You can wander around the whole castle, climb up all the spiral staircases and have a really good time. Nice little gift shop as well and friendly staff. A great place and admission price is good value.

Spectacular example of a former castle. Still has accommodation you can stay in. When Powys was capital of Wales and when Arthur Tudor, Henry's brother lived and died here. Well worth a visit. Ludlow is a beautiful example of a medieval town with a great mix of medieval and Georgion buildings. Blue plaques everywhere to give you a sense of the history.

Heard the castle supports foxhunting/wildlife crime. They have made no effort to speak out against this issue. It will not simply go away.

A place worth visiting. Beautiful views around, large territory. The castle has history, our guide told a lot of interesting things about life in it. Listening to her you seem to be immersed in that time. We spent two hours with pleasure.
